The Minor in Writing and Rhetoric, offered by the Department of Writing, Rhetoric, & Discourse (WRD), is available to any undergraduate student in the university. The Writing and Rhetoric minor is dedicated to the study of literate activity across time and culture and prepares students to excel as thoughtful written communicators in the circumstances important to them—in college and beyond. Across the flexible, two-course core and choice of electives, students will explore theories of language and expression, and write in a variety of contexts and genres critical to contemporary public life. The Writing and Rhetoric minor can be completed entirely online.
The program comprises two required core courses (8 credits) and three elective courses (12 credits); electives may be chosen from among all the department's undergraduate offerings.
