Students pursuing the Bridging certificate need to complete three graduate-level courses for a total of 10 credit hours. The Bridging certificate will require two online hybrid graduate-level courses Assessment and Evaluation Process for the Communication Impaired Bilingual and Planning and Implementing Intervention for the Communication Impaired Bilingual and an on-campus hybrid course Professional Practice of the Bilingual SLP. Please note: All courses will be taught in English.

Application Procedures and Requirements
Bridging Bilingual Speech Language Pathologists Certificate students are required to a) submit transcripts verifying completion of a M.S. or M.A. degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program, b) hold the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology and, d) hold the Illinois State Licensure (or other state licensure) to practice as a speech-language pathologist and, e) demonstrate "advanced mid" on the standardized Oral Proficiency (OPI) of the American Council on Teaching Foreign Languages (ACTFL). Applicants will be required to submit a statement of intent explaining their purpose for seeking this certificate.
