
Students who pursue this certificate would be required to take 4 classes within the music education sequence: Intro to Music Education (2 quarter hours), Foundations of Music Teaching and Learning I and II (each 2 quarter hours - curricular design in music and culturally responsive teaching in music respectively) and a music education elective (2 credits), excluding instrument and vocal technique courses. The total credit allocation for the certificate would be 8 credits which could count toward music electives required within the other music degrees. There is no required sequence for these courses. All of the courses within this certificate already exist, with no new courses proposed.
