| Two additional upper-level BIO electives | 8 | |
- 1
Transfer students can request that anatomy and physiology courses that were articulated as HLTH 301 and HLTH 302 be substituted for BIO 201 and BIO 308. Departmental approval is required for these substitutions.
- 2
Students are encouraged to take at least one topics course.
- 3
Department permission is required to substitute this course for approved electives. Permission is dependent on the content covered in the course.
- 4
Students interested in medical school should enroll in CHE 340/341 as an approved elective and CHE 234/235 (Organic Chemistry III) as an open elective.
- 5
Students interested in taking BIO 319 should take either BIO 215 or BIO 235 as an additional upper-level BIO elective.
It is strongly recommended that students who wish to take the MCAT take an ethics course as part of their Philosophical Inquiry Domain and PSY 105, PSY 106 & SOC 101 for their Social, Cultural, and Behavioral Inquiry. Biology courses other than the General Biology sequence that have any Scientific Inquiry domain designation do not generate credit toward the major or minor.
Open Electives
Open elective credit also is required to meet the minimum graduation requirement of 192 hours.
