Religious and Spiritual Support

The Division of Mission and Ministry supports and nurtures the spiritual and faith life of the university through the ministry and programs offered by Catholic Campus Ministry, the Religious Diversity and Pastoral Care team, and the Vincentian Service and Formation Office. Spirituality, service, and a commitment to justice are at the heart of the learning that happens at DePaul. Mission and Ministry can help you find lifelong friends, make a difference in the world around you, and develop a community in which you can live out the vision and Vincentian values of the university. Here are some of the things we offer:

Sacred Spaces on Campus

Looking for a place to pray or experience community with other religious/spiritual students?  We have options on both the Lincoln Park and Loop campuses. You can pray in one of our Muslim prayer rooms, attend mass on weekdays and Sundays, participate in worship, reflection or meditation in the Interfaith Sacred Space, hang out in the Jewish Life or Catholic Campus Ministry suites in the Lincoln Park Student Center,  join a student group or come to one of our 4D (Four Ways of Interfaith Dialogue) celebrations or events.

Student Religious Organizations

Go to DeHub/Groups and choose “Religious and Spiritual” under the Group Category to find many religious/spiritual groups to explore including those that are Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Orthodox Christian and other Christian groups such as L.I.F.T and Intervarsity, as well as Vincentian volunteer community service groups.  You can also check out Mission and Ministry-led groups such as Sankofa Black Student Formation.

Spiritual Companioning

Wrestling with spiritual questions? Grieving the loss of a loved one or a relationship? Going through a significant life transition? Seeking and/or exploring religious traditions other than your own? Questioning your identity? Sometimes we all need a listening ear, someone with whom to process the questions we face. The Division of Mission and Ministry’s professional staff is made up of experienced ordained and lay ministers rooted in multiple faith traditions who to the spiritual needs of students.  Please refer to this page to find out about scheduling an in-person or virtual pastoral care conversation, or to find out about requesting assistance with prayer requests, hospital visits, memorials and other spiritual needs.
