Applying HON courses to the LSP Common Core and Learning Domains

For students who transfer from DePaul's University Honors Program to the Liberal Studies Program, completed HON courses will apply to LSP requirements as outlined below.

  • HON 104 as a Religious Dimensions domain course
  • HON 105 as a Philosophical Inquiry domain course

  • HON 201 as a Social, Cultural and Behavioral Inquiry domain course
  • HON 205 as an Arts and Literature domain course
  • HON 225 as a Scientific Inquiry: Lab domain course
  • HON 302 as a Social, Cultural and Behavioral Inquiry domain course

Applying HON courses to LSP First-Year Writing sequence

The Liberal Studies Program requires two composition and rhetoric courses WRD 103 and WRD 104HON 100 RHETORIC AND CRITICAL INQUIRY  fulfills the WRD 104 COMPOSITION AND RHETORIC II requirement. Students who withdraw from the Honors Program after completing HON 100 and who do not have credit for WRD 103 must complete one of the following courses:

Permission to substitute an open elective for the second writing course may be granted based on a review of documentation showing superior achievement and/or professional experience in advanced, expository writing.
